A, An, The: The Word Helpers

Sometimes, nouns need a little helper word in front of them to tell us if we are talking about something general or something specific. These tiny helper words are called articles. They are like nametags that introduce a noun. There are only three of them: 'a', 'an', and 'the'. Even though they are small, they are used in almost every sentence we speak or write!

Articles are small words ('a', 'an', 'the') that come before a noun to show if we are talking about a general thing or a specific thing.
