Personal Pronouns
Personal Pronouns
Pronouns are words we use instead of repeating a noun. Personal pronouns refer to people or things. They make sentences shorter and smoother. For example, instead of saying 'Mary likes Mary's book', we say 'Mary likes her book'.
Subject Pronouns (I, we, you, he, she, it, they)
Subject pronouns are the words that do the action in a sentence. They are the 'who' or 'what' that the sentence is about. The subject pronouns are I, you, he, she, it, we, they.
Pronoun–Noun Agreement
When we use a pronoun to replace a noun, the pronoun must match the noun in number (singular/plural) and gender (male/female/neuter). This matching is called agreement.
