Conjunctions
The Glue of Language
Simple sentences are like single Lego bricks. To build something more interesting, you need a way to connect them. Conjunctions are the connectors of language. They can join single words ('bread and butter'), phrases ('over the river and through the woods'), or whole clauses ('I wanted to go, but I was sick'). They create relationships between ideas, showing addition, contrast, cause, and time. This chapter will equip you with the tools to connect your thoughts clearly and logically.
A conjunction is a word that connects words, phrases, or clauses.
