Same and Different

Comparing means finding what is SAME and what is DIFFERENT.
A cat and a dog: both have 4 legs (same), but they make different sounds!
Look carefully at size, colour, shape and number.

Worked example

Problem: A triangle and a square: which has more sides?

  1. Triangle: 3 sides. Square: 4 sides.
  2. The square has more sides.

Answer: square

Odd One Out

The ODD ONE OUT is the thing that does not belong to the group.
Apple, banana, mango, CAR: the car is the odd one because the rest are fruits!
Ask yourself: what do most of them have in common?

Worked example

Problem: Find the odd one out: dog, cat, cow, chair

  1. Dog, cat and cow are animals.
  2. A chair is not an animal.
  3. Chair is the odd one out.

Answer: chair

Puzzles and Logical Thinking

Think step by step. Use what you know about numbers, shapes and patterns.
Example: I am a number. I come after 6 and before 8. Who am I? Answer: 7!

Worked example

Problem: I have 4 equal sides and 4 corners. What shape am I?

  1. 4 sides and 4 corners: square or rectangle.
  2. EQUAL sides means square.

Answer: square
